Areas Worth Exploring by Boat In Fort Lauderdale

The Intracoastal waterway

The Intracoastal Waterway in the Fort Lauderdale area is one of our main boating attractions. It's by far our busiest waterway. Along its shores are a beautiful and diverse collection of private homes, condos and resort hotels, all worth exploring. As you enjoy the cool breezes, you'll see some of the biggest yachts in the world. After all, this is the Yachting Capital of the World.

Fort Lauderdale sandbar

This is party-central for boaters in Fort Lauderdale, especially on the weekend. You'll find a wide selection of boats music and fun. At times it's a self contained party hub, with food vendors, games and non-stop action. If you want to see Fort Lauderdale's wilder side on the water, this is the spot.

whiskey creek

Whiskey Creek is part of the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. The mangrove-lined waterway is a scenic spot for swimming, paddleboarding, observing birdlife, and taking photos. The beach there is much quieter and more secluded than other area beaches.

New river

This is the central waterway in Fort Lauderdale, and one of the best ways to see our city. You will marvel at the homes and yachts of the rich and famous through Millionaire’s Row. As you twist and turn through our beautiful city, you’ll see why we’re called the Venice of America. Stop and have a drink or a bite in one of our many waterfront restaurants, explore Riverwalk, do a little window shopping on Las Olas Boulevard.

Attractions to the north include the Boca Sandbar. Exploring the area to the south, you'll find Haulover Sandbar. These are similar to the Lauderdale Sandbar, with their own local flavor.

Planning Your Lauderdale Adventure

When you meet your captain at the boat landing, you will discuss your itinerary with them. They make great tour guides. Based on your preferences, they’ll help create a boating adventure that makes the most of your day or night on the water.
